Uber is starting their 180 Days of Change campaign and one of their starting changes will be the introduction of paid wait-times.
With Uber introducing paid wait-times, you now have less of a reason to cancel a trip. You will be paid by the minute after 2 minutes have passed since your arrival to the pickup location. With one of Uber’s other new future changes being a 2 minute cancellation window, you can either choose to wait for your passenger after 2 minutes have passed, or you can cancel immediately after 2 minutes have passed and move onto the next passenger. Remember that your cancellation rate is still affected even after the 2 minutes have passed.
The wait-time pay will vary from city to city.
