How Do You Avoid UberPOOL Trips?

If you don’t want to accept UberPOOL trips due to the lack of money it provides, there’s a couple of tricks that you can do to avoid them altogether.

What you want to do is if you find out that you have an UberPOOL request, you can just completely ignore it. This will have an impact on your acceptance rating but Uber cannot deactive your account for skipping these requests. If you skip 3 requests in a row, however, your account will go offline for about 10 minutes. If this happens, you’re free to use any other rideshare service to pass the time.  Another downside to this is a low acceptance rating will disqualify you for Uber promotions such as Uber Quests.

If you care about your acceptance rating, there are two trick to accept an UberPOOL trip but treat it like a regular UberX trip. The first thing that you can do is to go offline after you accept the trip, so you only pick up one passenger and take them to their destination. The other thing you can do is to press the stop new requests button for the same reason. It will basically be like a regular UberX trip except you earn the lower rates of UberPOOL.

When Is Uber’s Payday?

You will usually get your money on Wednesdays. Uber’s payment cycle is Monday at 4AM to the next Monday at 3:59AM. It may take time for your bank to process the transaction and make the funds available.

Additionally you may qualify for Instant Pay. To qualify for Instant Pay, you must have at least 25 trips and 2 weeks on the road.  Uber Instant Pay allows you to cash out up to 5 times a day at the cost of $0.50 per cash out.

Why Are Uber Invite Codes Important For New Drivers?

What Should I Do If I Didn’t Use My Uber Invite Code?

If you missed out on an Uber invite code, it’s not too late to qualify for your guaranteed money.

How To Stay Safe As An Uber Driver

While driving for Uber, there’s a risk of picking up a dangerous person because there’s all kinds of people in the world and you’re picking up people at random.

To stay safe:

  • Make sure you have a double sided camera, one side facing the road, and one side recording the car interior
  • Let passengers know that they’re being recorded for your own safety
  • Before picking up people, observe their behavior, appearance, mannerisms, and make a judgement
  • Be aware of your surroundings

Should I Cancel A Trip Or Have My Passenger Do it?

If you run into a situation where a trip needs to be cancelled, should you cancel it or should your passenger?

It depends on the situation. If you cancel the trip, it will affect your cancellation percentage and if that gets too low, you can be deactivated. If they cancel the trip, they will be charged a cancellation fee.

As a driver, for UberX, you should wait for at least 5 minutes before cancelling the trip. With UberPOOL, the wait time is 2 minutes. It may still affect your cancellation percentage but you will get paid the customer’s cancellation fee minus the Uber fee and you won’t waste your time. The other passengers for UberPOOL won’t have to wait as long a well.

When a passenger wants to cancel, make sure that they are the ones to cancel the trip, that way your cancellation percentage remains unaffected.

It might be beneficial to cancel a request when it’s difficult to reach the customer as well due to traffic or if it’s just a hard place to get to.
